Pond’s super light gel review

Hey everyone!I am finally back with product reviews and for today’s review I am going to review pond’s light gel moisturizer which I have been using lately and almost finished it.

Pond’s light gel moisturizer is oil free moisturizer which has hyaluronic acid and vitamin E in it and it claims to give non sticky glowing skin.

It is a very light weight moisturizer and has a gel like texture which is great for oily skin types as it will moisturize the skin without making the skin look greasy and without clogging pores. It does not mean that it is only made for oily skin types, some skin also do change with seasons and so does we need to shift to products that is ideal for our skin and this gel moisturizer is ideal for oily skin types all year round and also ideal for dry to normal skin types during summer who want something lightweight on skin. I would not suggest this moisturizer to someone with extremely dry skin because its ideal for them to use something that is more thick and rich in texture to keep their skin moisturised and I will be coming up with suggestions for dry skin types too.

Looking at the ingredient list: It has

Water: As it mains ingredient which is common in skincare products.

Dimethicone: It is a emollient (emollient: makes skin soft and smooth). Another major component which is a silicone which is used in skincare products to make skin look glossy and plumped (The major reason why skin looks plumped after using this). Obviously the plumped effect and glossy skin is temporary as long as it stays on your skin and it is a safe ingredient

Glycerine: It is a humectant which attracts water to the skin, which maintain skin moisture level. Glycerin combined with emollients (moisturizers) promotes healing, reduces irritation and restores normal skin barrier function.

Other ingredients are as follows: Butylene Glycol, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Niacinamide, Linoleámidopropyl Pg-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate, Phenoxyethanol, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Dimethicone, Perfume, Sodium PCA, Disodium EDTA, Stearic Acid, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tocopheryl Acetate, Triethanolamine, BHT, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Pentylene Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Aqua, Citral, Citronellol, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool, Ci 42090.

My experience: I have Dry to Normal skin type which turns into extremely dry and flaky skin in winters. I love the texture of this moisturizer and the fact it is actually very lightweight on skin and gives a cooling effect. Some people consider it to be a dupe of some high end brands. I personally enjoyed using this during summers, It makes my skin looks plumped and hydrated and keep it moisturised all day long without making it look greasy or oily. Due to winters I am currently using different moisturizer which is thick and rich in texture but I would surely continue using this after few days.
